I stopped the dryer when I heard it making a racket in there and I thought it was a goner for sure. But I removed the battery, put it in a bowl of uncooked rice to draw out the moisture and the next day it worked fine and has been fine ever since. The Omron HJ-112 works exactly as advertised and is very easy to use. The screen just read zero and the buttons didn't respond. It just has a couple of faint scuff marks from the beating it took in the dryer. So don't hesitate to purchase this accurate, easy-to-use, tough pedometer. I drop it in my pocket and forget it's there. And that was my problem because I accidentally sent it through a wash cycle and part of a dryer cycle.
I've even dropped it a few times and it is so well made it wasn't damaged in any way. It is so easy to wear and keep track of your walking. I know several other people who love their's. I have used my Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer every day for a month and it has changed the way I walk. My first day I did 12,175 steps and by my 30th day I was walking over 28,009 steps.
After trying other pedometers this is the one I would recommend for ease, value and accuracy. This is a convenient pedometer which is easy to set up and gives you an accurate read of your walking distance.

Which is great. This is the first pedometer I've bought, so my frame of reference is admittedly slim. Overall, though, I am pleased with this purchase. I do wish, however, that it would save all other information for 7 days as well (aerobic steps, calories burned, miles walked). That being said, I'm quite pleased with this purchase. It performs as described, the clip is strong enough that it doesn't pop off if you're moving quickly, and I really like the modal features. My one gripe (and it's more of a wish) is this: the unit saves your "step" information for 7 days.
